D. French Carpentry was founded and run by me, Dave French, who has amassed over 20 years in the carpentry and joinery trade.

I am passionate about creating bespoke, high-quality work that stands the test of time.

From the moment I left school, I knew carpentry was my calling. I started my career with an apprenticeship at a respected local company, where I spent a decade honing my skills. During that time, I specialised in large Manor houses, working on intricate, detailed woodwork that pushed my abilities and taught me the importance of precision and excellence.

My journey took me next to commercial shop fitting, where I had the opportunity to work on projects all across the UK, from Lands End to Liverpool. I then transitioned to working on Ministry of Defence sites, where I focused on upgrading and refurbishing living quarters, a project that required attention to detail, safety, and working to high standards under tight deadlines.

As my career evolved, I worked with a Joinery company on large-scale, custom commercial projects, including a notable stint working away in Guernsey. These experiences allowed me to refine my ability to create tailored, high-end joinery, no matter the complexity or scale of the project.

In 2024, I was fortunate enough to return to my roots and spent a fantastic year working on Manor houses once more, reconnecting with the craftsmanship that originally inspired my career.

I am NVQ Level 3 qualified in Carpentry and Joinery, and I hold a CSCS Gold Card. I also carry Public Liability insurance and take part in regular training, including Asbestos Awareness, Manual Handling, and Working at Heights courses. You can rest assured that your project will be completed to the highest standards, safely, and professionally.
